Mama's recommendation: A tree shifter
Daddy's recommendation: A TV set shifter, and as your watching it, it's watching you.
My recommendation: A bird shifter that when it shifts into human form, it ends up being twins and they have to find happiness with a human mate. And its in a world were being in a menage is like outlawed.

How bout a clan or family of bear shifters who live in an eastern coastal town and work fishing boats of at the docks. Also I like my stories with a little angst not to much which you do well but I love it when you throw in the funny stuff too.
How about an anteater?
Hybrid of a dragon and a panther or lion and their mate is a hybrid of a vamire and demon.
Alligator shifter family from Louisiana bayou, and one could mate with a Coypu shifter descendant so there could be lots of familial/cultural/species conflict. And sex ;D
Oh! I really like the dragon shifter idea, but the hybrid idea is cool too! I've always been intrigued with shifters that get "stuck" mid shift for some reason.
I like Debby's idea. It's different and their mates could be from the Amazon were it takes place or mates from Australia
Dragon shifter or a Bear Shifter. Might be neat to pair the two up. Would make an odd looking combination.

A Phoenix shifter is sent to modern times through a spell or a curse. Meets up with his mate who is a hunter that goes after rogue shifters...Maybe corrupt hunters could be after the Phoenix for his powers.
Dragon shifters that travelled back in time.... I'm a fan of time warp stories
