Friday Ramble

Actually, this is kind of a rant.

Today, Naomi/ST went to the post office to mail a package. She was wearing a Proud Nasty Woman shirt with a rainbow on it. When she was at the counter, she took a pen to write the address on the label. The USPS clerk took the pen back from her and handed her a pink one, and said: "Here, use this one instead. It's more feminine."

I don't care what your political views are, when you're working, you should be professional. And besides that, don't be a misogynistic douche. I have said before: I'm calmer online than in person. In this case, it's good that I wasn't there when this happened-- although I doubt he'd have done such a shit thing to an older woman. Naomi is 18, and she didn't know what to do.

Do I need to explain what I'd have done with that pink pen?

Anyway. That really pissed me off, and I have a complaint filed.

Besides that, tomorrow Naomi and I are going to take a little road trip. We're picking up one of her friends. Said friend will be staying with us for several days, and I'm glad. Naomi doesn't have many friends, and none that live in the area. The trip will be hard on her, though, and that sucks. She has seriously debilitating... TMI? Stop reading here if so IBS. We're hoping taking her pup with her on the drive will help her to be less stressed over the drive.

Other than that, it looks to be a calm weekend. I hope to write Sunday. And I hope all of y'all have a fantabulous weekend!!

I had a car salesman tell me I needed to look a more girly car when I was 18 and went to buy a new one. I was looking at a SUV and he took me to look at agreenpimp Mobile. How that was more girly is beyond me. People are stupid. Hope Naomi's friend makes it there ok.

Have a great trip girls. Traveling is hard for many people but those who have no trouble don't realize just how hard. In my earliest memories my traveling companion was a plastic bucket.

I'm glad you filed a complaint. That shit needs to be addressed or it will never stop. I hope the pup helps with the stresses of the trip, IBS is no joke. And I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Bailey, I have been out of the loop in so many ways for several weeks and am catching up. I was just reading about ST having severe IBS. I was stricken with this lovely disorder about 18 years ago and it dropped me down to 100 lbs and I'm 5'4". The drs didn't help with their diets and I was really struggling. I finally did a lot of research and I found this site http://www.helpforibs.com/ They changed the way I lived. I used the diet and the message boards for help. The diet takes away everything that could be a trigger and then when you have total control it allows you to slowly add things back in. It allowed me to go from house bound to be able to travel to NY for RWA conference, Huge difference. I Highly recommend the peppermint capsules. Hugs
